Richard is a printmaker, painter and photographer, whose work is process based. He is principally concerned with unraveling the complex energies that flow through nature. An investigation is often triggered by observation and photography, but surfaces, reactions between materials, accidental marks, drawings and music are all essential components of the process. The resulting piece can be in an iconic form, or a more literal translation of landscape. There is always a sense of history and place- an ‘inscape’- that hopefully evokes a spiritual response in the viewer.
