"Since attending Art College in the early 1980’s,
I hold an image in my mind from a contemporary poster,
of an unnamed artist attempting to paint a large canvas
while strapped to the deck of a North Sea trawler
in a violent winter storm.
"I think about that image everyday.
"It’s that connection with the subject
that moves me.
"Seeing, capturing and sharing images. I’m
passionate about it. I love the feel of ‘bottling’
a moment – however mundane.
"A snapshot in a literal sense but I want the
viewer to feel what I feel – like sneaking a
look through a crack in a fence – a shared experience.
"A nod and a wink – a mutual recognition.
"Heavily influenced by my graphic design training
and 20 years experience in industry, I aim to create
visually dynamic images that engage the viewer and
continue to hold their attention over time."
The images are created ‘in-camera’ as
photographs without recourse to Photoshop or similar.
